Stanly County native Amee Huneycutt Odom has once again been honored by her employer, Wingate University, receiving an award that was voted on by her peers.
A 1995 alumna of Wingate and director of the University’s Ethel K. Smith Library, Odom was presented with the Knowledge Award for her “exceptional intellect, practical competence, current expertise and unexcelled attitude.”
Last fall, Odom received the Alumni Excellence in Service Award. She has also been the recipient of the Student Government Association’s “Unsung Hero” award and twice received one of Wingate’s Mentor Medallions, awarded as a result of students’ recognition of her impact on their educational experiences.
Odom, who is from the Millingport community, earned her bachelor of arts degree in English from Wingate College, her master of library and information studies from UNC-Greensboro and a master of arts in English from UNC-Charlotte.
She was one of four employees singled out for special recognition.
