Cooper students have recital

Piano, voice and organ students of Anne Cooper presented their spring recital June 2 at Central United Methodist Church in Albemarle.

Each student performed four selections, including baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary periods as well as sacred music.

Kara Efird, who along with Blake Alexander and Jordan Korzelius are rising seniors, sang “What A Beautiful Name” and “Dry Bones.”

Korzelius performed “Passacaglia by George F. Handel on the piano and “Ode to Our Country” by Randolph Johnston on the Schantz pipe organ.

Korzelius, a rising senior, performed with Cooper a piano and organ duet of “Because He Lives [Amen]” by Matt Maher.

The recital concluded with Cooper playing Intermezzi 2-Opus 117 by Johannes Brahms.
