Valerian Growcock of Locust participated in the Bates College Junior Year Abroad program.

Growcock, a 2016 graduate of Piedmont High School, studied in Russia through Middlebury College, Yaroslavl.

Growcock, who is majoring in European studies and minoring in Russian, is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Roger A. Growcock of Locust.
