The 2019 regular season for Stanly County Post 76 American Legion’s baseball team concludes over the next two evenings with a chance to win the program’s first divisional title in recent memory.

Post 76 stands in second place in the Southern Division of Area III baseball with a 5-3 divisional record (17-5 overall) and has a home-at-home series with the team sitting in first place, Concord Post 51 (10-10, 5-2 div.).

Stanly hosts Concord tonight at Joe Ferebee Field on the Pfeiffer campus at 7 p.m. then travels Tuesday night to Mount Pleasant High School.

Concord has one more divisional game left, playing Wednesday night at Kannapolis (2-6).

Two wins for Post 76 would give the team the divisional title and a first-round bye in the playoffs. The first round of the Area III playoffs, a best-of-three series, opens Friday night at the higher seeds.
