Utility officials in Albemarle say a raccoon caused more than 4,000 customers to lose power Tuesday morning. 

Around 4 a.m., a raccoon got into a substation on U.S. Highway 52 North and damaged the equipment.

Power was restored for all residents at 7:15 a.m.
