Gov. Roy Cooper has appointed Lisa B. Burris of Albemarle as an at-large member of the Stanly Community College Board of Trustees.

Burris was a development director for Hospice of Stanly County and was involved with local charitable and volunteer organizations for more than 35 years.

She has also served on the Stanly Community College Foundation board and was its immediate past president.
