At the North American Cisco Partner Conference in Toronto, Canada, Stanly Community College Academy Support Center (ASC) was awarded Premier+ Academy status for 2018-2019, the fourth consecutive year it has been honored.

The award is given for contributions to the success of the students and instructors of Cisco Networking Academy.

SCC’s Instructor Training Center (ITC) was awarded Premier+ status for 2018-2019, the second year in a row. This award is given for training and support of the instructors for Cisco Networking Academy.

“On behalf of the entire ASC/ITC team I would like to thank Cisco for choosing SCC to receive Premier+ Partner awards,” Kelly Caudle, SCC program head for the Academy Support Center and Instructor Training Center, said. “I work with an amazing team that continuously strives to deliver the highest-quality training to our students. Please join me in thanking Rita Chrane, Brandon Crump, Brian Crump, Nick Huneycutt, Frank Lambert, Sylvia Lewis, Rita Lykke and Gonda Watson for all they do to make our ASC/ITC so successful.”

The Cisco Networking Academy program is an e-learning model that teaches networking and other information technology skills utilizing web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and instructor training and support.

The Academy began at Stanly Community College in the fall of 1998. From its inception, the Academy has been involved in teaching student classes locally, providing instructor training classes and offering support for other Cisco Academies.

The SCC team serves 140 Cisco Networking Academies in high schools, community colleges and universities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

ITC offers Cisco Network Academy instructor training in an online, blended distance-learning format. Classes utilize Webex for instructor interaction and Netlabs for class labs. SCC also provides Fast Track testing and classes for both Cisco Certified Network Associate and Cisco Certified Network Professional.

SCC’s local classes allow Stanly County residents to obtain advanced information technology training.
