In regards to the July 6-7 column by Martha Sue Hall “We need to bridge the internet divide,” I agree.

I live in Oakboro. We can only get AT&T DSL service. We’ve had nothing but problem after problem.

AT&T knows the old copper lines are the problem. But there are no future plans for fiber or Uverse I know of.

We cannot get any other providers here. We live between Stanfield and Oakboro.

Our neighbors in Stanfield have other options, Oakboro has fiber.

I hope one day soon we will as well.
