Stanly County commissioners will have a public hearing at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 in the Commissioners Meeting Room regarding a proposed economic incentive agreement between the county and an existing fastener manufacturer in Stanfield.

The proposed agreement would result in a five-year business development grant between the county and the manufacturer.

The company will invest an estimated $1.1 million and create approximately five new jobs in the county, according to the county.

County Manager Andy Lucas said he will not reveal the name of the company until the tax incentive is approved by the commissioners and the agreement is executed.
