The Stanly County Bridge Department of the North Carolina Department of Transportation closed a portion of Tite Road in Stanfield Wednesday.

A 14 feet long by 6 feet wide by 10 feet deep hole was filled temporarily by Wednesday afternoon.

Officials have not said how long the road will be closed or what caused the road to open.

A detour runs from Polk Ford Road to Renee Ford Road and Renee Ford Road to Tite Road.
