Stanly Football Notebook: Sept. 6

In varsity football games Friday night, South Stanly hosted the Jordan-Matthews Jets while Albemarle was on the road in Mount Holly to play the Mountain Island Charter Raptors.

South Stanly 45, Jordan-Matthews 8

The Bulls’ offense continued for the second week in a row to put up big numbers as South improved to 2-0 with a lopsided home win over the Jets.

Marcus Green had four touchdowns for South gaining 220 yards on the ground while Malik Kluttz added two scores.

South Stanly will be off this week and will host Mount Pleasant on Sept. 20.

Mountain Island Charter 47, Albemarle 6

The Bulldogs dropped to 0-3 on the season with the road loss to the Raptors.

Albemarle will not be back in action until Sept. 20 when the Bulldogs travel to Union Pines.
