South volleyball plays five set match with Mont. Central

The South Stanly volleyball team fell to 3-5 overall with a five-set loss Monday to Montgomery Central in a non-conference matchup.

Scores of the match were 21-25, 24-26, 25-11, 26-24 and 15-8 in favor of the Timberwolves (4-5).

Senior Mattie Hinson led South Stanly with 20 kills on 42 attempts, while junior Emma Lemmons added 11 kills and a team-high five aces.

Keeli Crisco and Morgan Kinley each had 18 digs for the Bulls. Crisco added eight kills and led with 24 assists while Emma Campbell added 19 assists.

Amelia Lowder led South with four total blocks.

South Stanly returns to Yadkin Valley Conference play on Thursday at North Moore (5-2).
