North Stanly football game to be played Saturday

The canceled football game between North Stanly High School and Carson will be played at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Stanly, according to a North Stanly Facebook post that was independently verified by North head coach Scott Crisco.

The game was canceled Friday because of security concerns.

The school system “has been notified of additional information that could compromise safety measures our schools have in place for sporting events,” according to a statement on the system’s website.

The security concerns came after a rally in support of North’s cheerleaders was announced. The rally, which happened Friday night, came on the heels of the cheerleaders being put on probation by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association following a display of a Trump 2020 banner at a football game.
