In other Stanly football games on Friday, Albemarle and West Stanly both faced non-conference road games.

North Stanly’s game with Carson was moved to Saturday at 11 a.m.

West Stanly 52, Wheatmore 12

The Colts (4-0) avenged last season’s playoff loss and dominated from the get-go in a 40-point road win over the Warriors.

Jordan Poole had three rushing touchdowns for the Colts with 181 yards on 12 carries. He also
hauled in an 80-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jordan Manshack.

Logan Little, Daniel Hansen and Manshack each added one rushing TD.  Manshack was 3-for-5 through the air for 133 yards.

As a team, West had 498 total yards of offense.

The Colts led 37-6 at halftime then went up 52-6 late in the third to force a running clock for the remainder of the game.

“It was a good win. The guys played great,” Colts head coach Brett Morton said.

Morton added Wheatmore kept coming after West the entire game.

West returns home Friday night to host East Rowan (2-3) who lost to North Rowan 20-16 after leading 16-6 after three quarters.

Union Pines 26, Albemarle 3

The Bulldogs fell to 0-4 on the season with a road loss to the Vikings.

Trailing 13-0 early, the Bulldogs’ only points came with five minutes left in the opening quarter on a short field goal.

Union Pines (3-2) scored later in the first half and led 20-3 at halftime.

Albemarle opens Yadkin Valley Conference play Friday night at home against Chatham Central (0-5) who lost to the North Wake Saints, 42-20, on Friday.
