The Gray Stone soccer team entered Monday’s Yadkin Valley Conference road matchup at Uwharrie Charter having not tasted defeat since the opening match of the season at Watauga High School in Boone.
Gray Stone kept its hold on the standings and the streak with a 4-2 win over the Eagles.
Heading into the matchup, the Knights led the Eagles and the North Moore Mustangs in the conference standings.
Two goals in the first 10 minutes got the Knights (8-1-1, 5-0 YVC) an early advantage.
Judson Bullard scored in the ninth minute followed by a David Almond goal a minute later, both assisted by Luke Hill.
Bullard later scored unassisted in the 35th minute but the Eagles answered off a corner kick two minutes later to make it a 3-1 lead for Gray Stone at halftime.
In the 48th minute, Andrew Beohler scored unassisted to put the Knights back up by three goals.
Uwharrie added a final goal in the 60th minute.
Brady Mowers and Alex Hodges had the goals for Uwharrie Charter (4-2, 2-2) with Angel Vanegas assiting on both tallies.
Gray Stone continues YVC play Monday at home against the second-place North Moore Mustangs, then hosts a non-conference match with Lincoln Charter Thursday.
