Tractor, vehicle involved in accident

An accident occurred early Wednesday morning along U.S. Highway 52 near Walnut Drive just outside the city limits of Albemarle involving a Ford farm tractor and a passenger vehicle.
The car collided into the back of the tractor, according to N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Taylor. Both drivers were taken to Atrium Health Stanly. Taylor said neither suffered serious injuries.
Taylor said the driver of the car has been released from the hospital and the driver of the tractor should be released soon.
Both the car and the tractor were totaled, Taylor said.
He couldn’t release any more information at the time because the investigation is still ongoing.
