West Stanly volleyball downs Timberwolves, Bearcats

In Rocky River Conference volleyball games this week, the West Stanly Colts earned road victories over the Montgomery Central Timberwolves and the Anson Bearcats to stay perfect in the conference standings.
This week, West Stanly returns home to host RRC rival Mount Pleasant on Tuesday night.
West also hosts Forest Hills on Thursday and gets a rematch with North Stanly on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s Match
West Stanly 3, Mont. Central 1
The Colts needed four sets to take down the Timberwolves on the road with scores of 19-25, 25-20, 25-16 and 26-24 in favor of West.
Senior Dani Moss led the Colts with 11 kills while Madison Kee and Kayli Cleaver combined for eight kills.
Addie Barbee paced the West offense with 30 assists while Alli Sanders provided defensive support for the Colts leading with 19 digs.
Thursday’s Match
West Stanly 3, Anson County 2
Rallying from two sets down, the Colts roared back to win the next three to improve to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the RRC.
Scores of the match were 24-26, 21-25, 25-19, 27-25 and 15-11 in favor of the Colts.
Moss again led West with 13 kills while Kee and Cleaver combined for 12 kills.
Sanders led West with 19 digs while Addie Barbee had 41 assists, giving her 981 assists for her career.
