David Almond had a goal and three assists in the Knights’ road win Monday at North Moore. The Mustangs host Lincoln Charter Thursday.

Monday night was business as usual for the Gray Stone men’s soccer team as the Knights kept the team’s unbeaten streak alive.

Despite an extended halftime break, Gray Stone never trailed in a 6-0 win at North Moore.
The unbeaten streak reached 11 games for the Knights (10-1-1, 7-0 YVC) with the win.

Edison Khan kicked off the scoring for Gray Stone in the first half off an assist from Luke Hill.

Leading 1-0 at halftime, a weather delay transformed a 10-minute break into a two-hour delay.

When play resumed, the Knights built on the lead getting a Judson Bullard goal assisted by David Almond.

Gray Stone added four more tallies in the second half, getting two goals from Andrew Beohler along with goals from Almond and Marshall Overcash.

“I was impressed with my guys’ ability to stay focused throughout the lengthy delay and produce a second-half performance against a good team,” Knights head coach Bradley Harrington said.

The win keeps Gray Stone a game ahead of Uwharrie Charter atop the YVC standings. The two teams play Oct. 11 for Gray Stone’s homecoming festivities.

“Nothing is locked up or set in stone. We have five other conference games where we will show up, take it one game at a time and respect each opponent to the fullest,” Harrington said.
