In volleyball matches this week, the North Stanly Comets improved to 16-0 on the season earning straight-set wins over Montgomery Central and North Rowan.

Monday’s Match
North Stanly 3, Montgomery Central 0
The Comets went out of conference play to sweep the Timberwolves with scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-17.

Merris Talbert led North with seven kills while Nicole and Taegan Lowder had six kills each.

Talbert and Alex Childress each led North with three aces while Nicole Lowder and Cleo Carter had three blocks each.

Payton Landis paced the Comets with 14 assists while Childress added 11. Brinn Kimrey led North with eight digs.

Tuesday’s Match
North Stanly 3, North Rowan 0
North Stanly swept the Cavaliers with scores of 25-17, 25-9 and 25-6.

Taegan Lowder led the Comets with seven kills.

Childress had 10 assists for the Comets and Landis led North Stanly with five service aces.
