The final steel beam on Pfeiffer University’s Center for Health Sciences in downtown Albemarle is to be set into place within days.

Before it is placed, Pfeiffer officials invite the community to celebrate this milestone by signing the beam.

Members of the public are invited to sign the beam, which will be at the construction trailer on Fourth Street across from the construction site, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.

“We are very excited to have reached this milestone, and we recognize that it is the symbol of an extraordinary partnership with the communities we serve,” Pfeiffer President Scott Bullard said. “We hope that our donors, alumni and friends in Stanly County will commemorate this occasion with us by signing the building’s final I-beam before it goes into place.”
