On Dec. 2, the Stanly County Register of Deeds will hold its annual “Thank You for Your Service” program at the Stanly County Agri Civic Center, 26032 Newt Road B, Albemarle, NC 28001, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

All veterans are invited.

One of the responsibilities of the Register of Deeds office is to record veterans’ DD214 (discharge papers) in Stanly County. The purpose of this event is to encourage veterans to record their DD214. When a veteran records their DD214 they will be issued a veterans “Thank You for Your Service” photo ID card that makes them eligible to receive discounts or incentives from participating Stanly County businesses when they present their card. This is a free service to veterans.

Vendors will be there to share what services they have to offer veterans and not only will we have a silent auction and several raffles to raise money for the Stanly County Veteran Relief Fund, but we also have door prizes for veterans.

This is a great event for the whole community and a chance for you to come out and show our veterans how much they are appreciated.

Businesses or service providers that are interested in setting up a booth to offer information, incentives or other services that might be useful to our veterans, contact the Register of Deeds office at 704-986-3640.

The Stanly County Register of Deeds would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all active military, veterans and their families.
