The Salvation Army’s food pantry in Albemarle, at 118 Heath St. near downtown, will not be operating until Jan. 7  due to one of the employees being on vacation, according to a sign posted on the door and confirmed by Lt. Josh Keaton, commanding officer of the Salvation Army in Concord and Albemarle.

The food pantry was also closed all of Christmas week, Keaton said.

If people are in need of food, they can go to the Concord Salvation Army location at 216 Patterson Ave. at 3 p.m. every Thursday.

The Salvation Army opened in Albemarle in the fall of 2018.
