The South Stanly men’s basketball team made it six wins in the last seven games Friday night at home with a 47-44 win over North Stanly, giving the Comets the team’s first conference loss of the season.

Justin Gaddy led South (8-4, 3-2 YVC) with 18 points while Jaquez Cooke added 11 points and Brandon Hiller scored 10 points off the bench.

Dyson Bell led North (7-5, 3-1) with 19 points, 13 coming in the second half, while Clay Hatley added 12 points.

North Stanly hosts North Moore Tuesday while South Stanly plays at West Stanly Wednesday.
