The Gray Stone women’s basketball team faced a tough challenge Tuesday night but came away with a 60-35 road win over the North Rowan Cavaliers.

Seccora Medley and Danielle Werts led Gray Stone (8-0, 5-0 YVC) with 12 points each while Danika Ray and Jenna Robinson each added 10 points.

Natavia Taborn led the Cavs (8-4, 4-1) and all scorers in the game with 14 points.

Gray Stone head coach Robert Stack credited the win to the team’s defense, rebounding and balanced scoring.

The Knights travel to Uwharrie Charter (8-4, 4-1) Friday night then face Lincoln Charter in the Battle for the State Saturday, hosted by T.W. Andrews High School.
