The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce changed locations this month, moving from its location on East North Street near the Albemarle Police Department to the Stanly County Commons.

“The county gave them a very good space to use and offered to house them,” Chamber Board Chairman George Crooker said.

The Chamber’s previous location was getting older and would have required more upkeep, Crooker said.

Even with the move, the Chamber is not becoming a county organization, Crooker said.

The move comes with another change at the Chamber as it named its next president this week. Sandy Selvy-Mullis, who had been interim president, accepted the position.
