33-year-old man dies in weekend shooting

Around 6:52 p.m. Saturday, Albemarle police officers responded to a shooting at 1004 Henry Jay St., according to a police press release. They found a man shot in a residential yard. EMS transported the man to Atrium Health Stanly, where he later died.

The victim, identified as Tristan Edward Crump, was 33 and lived in Albemarle.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to figure out what happened the night of the incident.
