Due to winter weather, SCS operating on early release schedule for Thursday

Due to a winter weather advisory, Stanly County Schools has made the decision to release early today, according to a post on the school system’s website.
Early Colleges and Stanly Academy Learning Center will release at 10:30 a.m. Early start elementary schools along with middle and high schools will release at 11 a.m.
Late start elementary schools will release at 12:15 p.m., and Oakboro Choice STEM School will release at 12:30 p.m.
All after school activities will be canceled.
The school system said it will advise with Emergency Management Services later this morning concerning predictions for tomorrow.
Stanly County is expected to receive less than an inch of snow today, according to the National Weather Service.
Gray Stone Day School will be closing the school at 11:30 a.m.
