The 11th annual Stanly County Winter Wine Festival is almost here.

It will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 29 at Market Station in downtown Albemarle. The Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation organizes the event each year.

There will be 14 vineyards from across the state showcasing different styles and flavors from dry to sweet. They include: Cabo Winery, Dennis Vineyards, Uwharrie Vineyards, Douglas Vineyards, Locklear Vineyard & Winery, Native Vines Winery, Morgan Ridge Vineyards, Hazel Jean Vineyards, Rock of Ages Winery, Southern Charm Winery, Woodmill Winery, Treehouse Vineyards, Weathervane Winery and Stony Mountain Vineyards.

“I call it a one stop sip-and-shop of North Carolina vineyards and wineries,” Main Street Manager and ADDC director Joy Almond said. “It’s a very authentic event that is true to what we have to offer not just in Stanly County, but in North Carolina.”

Tickets are on sale for $25 and can be purchased at Glory Beans Coffee House, La T Dah Boutique, Starnes Jewelers and McRae Jewelers in Norwood. The event is open to the public, though people must be 21 years of age or older to enter.

Admission includes a souvenir tasting glass, wine sampling and entertainment from DJ Dean Scott. Wine can also be purchased by the bottle or by the case.

There will also be food vendors such as Roma Pizza, Carolina Wingz Factory, Tiffany’s at the Boardroom and Hilltop Seafood Company.
