Winter weather affects early voting hours

Due to expected inclement weather, both Stanly County one-stop voting sites in Albemarle (Stanly County Commons, DSS Auditorium, 1000 North 1st Street) and Locust (City Hall, Joel Huneycutt Community Room, 186 Ray Kennedy Drive) will be closing today at 5:00 p.m. and opening Friday at 10 a.m.

“We will update our website and Facebook page with any additional changes in our schedule,” said Kimberly Blackwelder, Stanly County Board of Elections director.

The sites will stay open Friday until 7:30 p.m.

Sites will resume their normal schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday Feb. 22,  and from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 through Feb. 28 The last day of early voting will be Saturday Feb. 29 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The primary will be March 3 from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
