Badin United Methodist Church

A Bible study of the book of Acts by Pastor Beau Linker is offered each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 18 Hickory St.

Uwharrie Bottle Club

It’s time for the 12th Antique Bottle and Collectibles Show and Sale at the Badin Volunteer Fire Department March 14. Vendors will set up beginning at 6 a.m. The show is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The club offers free bottle appraisals and all kinds of bottles, signs and collectibles for sale. Morrow Mountain

Take a peek at the past through a tour of the Kron House — a country doctor’s home situated at the state park. The property will be open 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 15.

A ranger-led hike is planned for 11 a.m. to noon March 21 on the 0.8-mile Three Rivers Trail. Meet at the boathouse parking lot, bring water and learn about the history, flora and fauna of Morrow Mountain.

It’s not too soon to reserve a seat on a big canoe for the April 24-25 Star Party. More information to come. Email maggie.miller@ncparks.gov to make a reservation.

Badin Library

Badin Terrific Tots Preschool Storytime takes place every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

In addition, on March 17, adults can enjoy a spring craft activity at 10:30 a.m. Call the library for more information at 704-422-3218.

Sunshine Club

Club members and guests will enjoy hearing the continuing history of Badin and its landmarks at the regular meeting March 24 at 10:30 a.m. in Badin Baptist Church fellowship hall. Debra Hardister Loven, co-director of Badin Historic Museum, will present the program. A covered-dish lunch will follow. Please provide a favorite main dish, a side or dessert to share.

Palestine News

The Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry of Palestine United Methodist Church is collecting canned meats (chicken, tuna, salmons, Vienna sausages), all types of soups and juice for March. If you are interested in donating, contact Susie Bowers.

Upcoming Events
Love Thy Neighbor group will meet March 17 at 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Everyone is invited to the David Jeremiah All I Need Bible Study Wednesdays through April 8 at 6:30 p.m. weekly in the church sanctuary.

Palestine United Methodist Women host their annual Poor Man’s Supper March 21 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A traditional meal of cabbage, potatoes, pintos and fat back will be served along with a dessert and drink for $8. All monies raised will go toward community outreach missions.

The Emmaus Reunion Luncheon will be March 22 in the church fellowship hall immediately following the morning worship service.
