Albemarle Main Street Joy Almond has confirmed that the Annual Outdoorsman’s Bonanza has been shifted from the end of March to the beginning of May.

“The ADDC has been closely monitoring updates on restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus,” Almond said late Friday. “Following Gov. Roy Cooper’s recommended precautions — including canceling large group gatherings — we have decided to postpone the 17th Annual Outdoorsman’s Bonanza. The event has been rescheduled for
Saturday, May 2, pending restrictions and recommended actions regarding large groups are lifted by this time.

“The Outdoorsman’s Bonanza will still take place at Market Station in Downtown Albemarle, with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. Drawings will still take place at the originally scheduled times, and the same prizes will still be offered, as well as complimentary food and beverage for guests.”

May 2 will be a busy day as Albemarle’s Beach Blast also takes place in downtown from 7-10 p.m. The event will feature The Catalinas.

“Careful thought and consideration went into making the decision to postpone,” Almond said. “This was not a decision that was made lightly. However, we feel an obligation to our community to put their well-being first, and are pleased that we are still able to offer the event in its entirety; it is simply taking place on a later date.”
