County Manager Andy Lucas released the following statement Friday:

Please note County offices will close to the public effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

The County is actively monitoring the COVID-19 emergency, and has made the decision to close access to most facilities and offices to help mitigate the community spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

All offices will continue to operate and provide services. County employees will continue to access their respective facilities and continue their job functions.

Utility customers will be able to contact customer service representatives by phone at 704-986-3686.

Further, customers will be able to make payments at the drop box adjacent to the Utilities office at the Stanly Commons or online at: http://stanlycountyutilities.com/pay-utility-bill/

The Stanly County Courthouse will remain open. However, access to the Register of Deeds Office and the Tax Office will be limited, but essential services such as deed recording, deed certifications and other recordings and licenses that are need to maintain business continuity and commerce will be available. Attorneys and others requiring assistance from the Tax Office or Register of Deeds are encouraged to call these offices prior to visiting these offices in person.

The Health Department clinic will remain open for public access. Citizens requiring health care services at the Health Department will access services on the north side of the Commons facility (back side of the facility facing the 2nd Street laundry and car wash).

All solid waste convenience sites will remain open to the public.
