With the county closing offices due to the COVID-19 situation, the Stanly County Register of Deeds office will have limited capabilities.

The Stanly County Courthouse will remain open. However, access to the Register of Deeds Office will be limited; essential services such as recording documents and vital records that are needed to maintain business continuity and commerce will be available.

Attorneys and others requiring assistance from the Register of Deeds are encouraged to call prior to visiting this office in person (704-986-3640).
Questions may be emailed by visiting www.stanlyrod.net.

“I urge all submitters of documents to use our E-recording system for recording documents,” Register of Deeds Suzanne Lowder said. “There will be a table set up in the hallway for drop-off recordings, as well as any vital copy requests. You may leave your documents in the tray provided. Your documents will be processed immediately upon receipt so that there will not be a gap in the recording process.”

Documents can also be mailed to Stanly County Register of Deeds, PO Box 97, Albemarle NC 28002.

Individuals who need a certified copy of a record such as birth, death or marriage certificate may order these online at www.stanlyrod.net and use the Get Certificate application. These are typically mailed out within 24 hours.

“I appreciate your understanding during this time,” Lowder said.
