Two fires were set within an hour of one another April 3 in Albemarle, according to police.

At 8:27 p.m., a fire was reported at 841 N.C. 24-27 Bypass E behind Badcock Furniture. Roughly 30 minutes later, a fire was reported at 2403 Badin Road. Fire investigators determined both to have been intentionally set.

This comes after a series of arson attempts over the last several months. In late March, fires were set at both the Albemarle Police Department and the Albemarle City Hall, though no major damage occurred.

In early February, the law offices of Charles Parnell and Mark Lowder caught fire before dawn on a Sunday morning.

If people have any information on any of these, they are asked to call the Albemarle Police Department at 704-984-9500 or leave an anonymous tip on its Tipline at 704-984-9511.
