County offers ways to comment at next meeting

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the associated social distancing requirements and mass gathering restrictions, additional options will be available for public comment during the Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting on Monday.

Members of the public who wish to comment may:

1. Make comments in person at the meeting. In order to comply with the Social Distancing Requirements specified in Gov. Roy Cooper’s Executive Order No. 121 – Stay at Home Order and Strategic Directions for North Carolina in Response to Increasing COVID-19 Cases that was issued on March 27, 2020, members of the public may view the meeting via live broadcast in the Partnership Meeting Room at the Stanly Commons at 1000 N. 1st St., Albemarle.

Members of the public who wish to comment in person during the public comment
period will be individually directed by staff as to when and where to enter the Commissioners Meeting Room in order to address the Board of Commissioners in accordance with any applicable Executive Orders and guidelines; or

2. Email comments to tbrummitt@stanlycountync.gov by no later than 5 p.m. Monday to be read aloud at the meeting during the public comment period; or

3. Call the Clerk to the Board at 704-986-3600 by no later than 5 p.m. Monday and leave comments with the clerk to be read aloud at the meeting; or

4. Call the Clerk to the Board at 704-986-3600 by 5 p.m. Monday and leave your name and phone number so you can be contacted by staff during the meeting in order to speak directly to the Board of Commissioners and share comments or concerns.

Persons needing special assistance or non-English speaking persons should contact the
County Manager’s Office at 704-986-3600 at least 48 hours prior to the hearing.
