South Stanly High School Principal Chad Parker has been appointed principal at Statesville High School in Iredell County. He resigned April 20 and his last day with Stanly County Schools will be June 19.

He was approved for his new position during Iredell-Statesville School’s most recent school board meeting.

Parker had been South Stanly’s principal since the beginning of the school year. His previous position was as assistant principal at Statesville High School.

Originally from Virginia, Parker has worked as a teacher and assistant principal in Iredell and Mecklenburg counties since 2006, according to information from Statesville’s website. He’s a graduate of Christopher Newport University and Appalachian State University.

Parker is not the only SCS employee heading to Iredell. Superintendent Dr. Jeff James was approved during a special called board meeting last Friday to become ISS’s next superintendent. His last day with SCS will be June 30.
