Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Stanly County Schools has canceled all proms for the remainder of the year. The announcement was made on both the school system’s website and its Facebook page.

SCS has posted a survey on its website, asking students for input about potentially having prom at a later time in the year. The options that students can choose include rescheduling the prom to sometime in July, rescheduling the prom to sometime in August or simply not having a prom.

There is also a text box for students to provide any other feedback regarding Prom 2020.

All decisions regarding possible future prom dates would depend on Gov. Roy Cooper’s orders regarding social distancing and social gathering.

Students have until May 3 to respond to the survey.
