On the agenda of the May 18th meeting of the Oakboro Town Council, a number of rezoning requests will be considered as part of Project Blue Sky, code name for a new Charlotte Pipe and Foundry facility.
Oakmont Acquisitions, a subsidiary of Charlotte Pipe, has asked for a number of plots of land in the town’s city limits to be rezoned as heavy industrial. At a previous meeting, the Stanly County Board of Commissioners had already approved similar rezoning requests to adjacent properties owned by the Charlotte Pipe subsidiary.
Also on the town’s agenda will be an item on its 2020-21 budget along with regular department updates.
