Nabell USA, a manufacturer and distributor of bellows and protective covers for medical, industrial and scientific applications, will expand its operations in Albemarle.
The company, which opened its doors in Stanly County in 1998 and relocated to the city in 2009, plans to create 15 new jobs within the next two years and invest approximately $2.9 million at its existing facility.
Public hearings for local incentives were conducted on May 4 for the City of Albemarle and May 11 for Stanly County. The goal of local incentives is to encourage new investment and induce job creation.
“We are fortunate to have an established industry like Nabell USA trusting in our community with this significant expansion, investment, and creation of jobs,” Albemarle Mayor Ronnie Michael said. “We look forward to working with them as they continue with this planned growth. Nabell located in Albemarle in 2009 and began making bellows and protective covers. We hope to keep them here for many more years.
“An important part of economic development is the expansion of local industry. The City Council of Albemarle stands ready to help our local business and industries grow with our abundant and reliable utilities and services. The City of Albemarle and its Department of Economic Development would like to thank our partners in the successful retention and expansion of Nabell: Stanly County EDC, the Economic Development Partnership of NC, and Stanly Community College.”
Nabell President and COO Don Stewart added: “As Nabell continues to grow our Albemarle facility, we are honored to share a partnership with the City of Albemarle Economic Development and the Stanly County EDC. We would like to thank these departments and their directors along with Mayor Michael, the City Council members and the Stanly County commissioners for their support in this expansion project, but most importantly their continued support that allows Nabell to provide new, career-based jobs for our community members.”
The Stanly County Economic Development Commission and Stanly County Board of Commissioners extend their gratitude to the City of Albemarle for their existing industry support.
“Stanly County is extremely excited to help encourage further growth, investment and job creation by a local manufacturer,” said Matthew Swain, chairman of the board of commissioners. “We sincerely appreciate the investments being made by Nabell. These new jobs will provide a much needed shot in the arm for our local economy and hopefully help stimulate further economic activity.”
