With the gradual opening of the county and state in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Albemarle Parks and Recreation has started planning a rebound for the county.

Along with signings for Babe Ruth Baseball opening, AP&R announced on its Facebook page a Rebound Round-Up event in August.

City Lake Park will host food trucks featuring local places like Chick-Fil-A, Hilltop Seafood and Dawson’s Dogs, along with games and entertainment, the first three Fridays in August, according to the Facebook post.

AP&R Director Lisa Kiser said Babe Ruth Baseball will continue as the state moves into Phase Two of the governor’s plan to reopen the state. Social distancing measures for spectators would be implemented.

Kiser said the Niven Center is open for program registrations and facility reservations are being taken for dates after June 1, also contingent upon being in Phase Two.
