Another opportunity for graduating senior student-athletes has gone by the wayside in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The North Carolina Coaches Association announced Thursday a unanimous decision made by its Board of Directors to cancel both the East-West All-Star Games and the coaches clinic.

“Due to current unknowns regarding the COVID-19 virus, government regulations and concerns about possible loss of normal physical conditioning, the NCCA has chosen not to jeopardize the health of the coaches, players and staff or the players’ upcoming college opportunities,” the NCCA announced in a statement.

Players selected to play in the 2020 all-star games will be recognized next June at halftime of the East-West All-Star Football game.

The NCCA also announced a series of video coaching clinics on its website, www.nccoach.org, while membership and associate cards will be mailed out.
