SCS makes principal, AP changes

With each summer comes new school positions. Even though there is still uncertainty about what the school year will look like come August due to the coronavirus pandemic, several schools have already gotten new principals and assistant principals for the upcoming year.

Tim Woody, who was principal at Stanly Academy Learning Center, is now principal at South Stanly High. He replaced Chad Parker, who is now principal at Statesville High School in Iredell County. Kelly Barbee, who was a teacher at West Stanly High, will serve as South Stanly’s assistant principal.

Julienne Fallon, who was principal at Richfield Elementary School, is now principal at North Stanly High. She replaced Danny Poplin, who retired in June. Cam Dowing will continue as assistant principal.

Natasha Krueger, who was assistant principal at West Stanly High, is now principal at Stanly Academy Learning Center.

Karen Nixon, who was principal at Endy Elementary, is now principal at North Stanly Middle. She replaced Benjamin Goodwin II, who is now assistant principal at Albemarle Middle. Brian Bradshaw, who was a teacher at Albemarle High School, will serve as North Stanly’s assistant principal.

Kristen Sides was previously assistant principal at South Stanly and is now the principal. She became interim principal midway through the school year after Chris Jonassen moved to Albemarle Middle. Kelly Hill, who was an intern, will serve as assistant principal.

Jodi Autry, who was assistant principal at South Stanly High, is now principal at Endy Elementary while Stephanie Odum, who was assistant principal at West Stanly Middle, is now principal at Richfield Elementary.

Jennifer Flowe, who was assistant principal at North Stanly Middle, is now assistant principal at West Stanly High School. Brooke Davis, who was an intern at West Stanly Middle, is now assistant principal at the school.

Former superintendent Dr. Jeff James left at the end of June and is now superintendent at Iredell-Statesville Schools. Vicki Calvert is serving as interim superintendent while the school board searches for James’ replacement.
