A new local distributor of nutrition products sold across the globe has opened a store in Albemarle to provide nutritional drinks and supplements promoting a healthy way of life.

Queen’s Nutrition, located at 1327 E. Main St., recently opened to provide chai teas, meal-replacement smoothies and other Herbalife brand products.

Delia Fernandez, owner of the business, is an independent distributor of the products.

The new business does waffles and crepes along with shakes, iced coffees, chai teas and other products.

Fernandez said she had high blood pressure and cholesterol along with weight problems, but the Herbalife products have helped her to lose 50 pounds.

Chai teas are also sold which are just five calories and will help give consumers energy, Fernandez said.

The meal replacement shakes and teas will help boost energy as well as one’s natural metabolism, she added.

A menu on the wall features flavor combinations, including basics like chocolate and strawberry along with specialty flavors like orange dreamsicle and mango tango.

“I feel we can help a lot of people like me to feel better,” Fernandez said. “Sick people are not happy. I used to have a clothing business, but I was not happy. I was always achy and tired, in pain…and now I feel good. I see I can help people like that.”

Queen’s Nutrition is open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
