Please keep reading for the Summer Reading challenge through July 31. Submit the completed “Summer Reading Book Stack” for each child to earn a prize, either in person or via email: shahn@stanlycountylibrary.org. Forms are still available for pickup.

Town Business

Limb and brush pickup will be Aug. 4. Please have materials at the curb by 8 a.m. that day.

Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 in the Badin Conference Center. Badin residents will be interested to know the Council voted to place the “Deadman” back in the Falls Road median.

Better Badin, Inc. still has plans for a teen basketball tournament Aug. 29, as well as other events this fall. Even so, the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 restrictions prevents the group from making definite announcements. The next meeting at Loafers and Legends is at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Please wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.

Morrow Mountain

Check the Facebook page pictures to get a glimpse of the Park’s new Scenic Overlook at the summit. Better yet, drive or hike up and see the finished project in person. The summit is once again open to vehicle traffic.
