Health Department shares new CDC guidelines as cases pass 700

The following is from the Stanly County Health Department:

On Monday, CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) issued new guidelines for when people who are positive for COVID-19 can be released from isolation.

● COVID-19 positive persons should be allowed to return to normal activities if:
○ It has been 10 days since they first showed symptoms
○ AND, they haven’t had a fever for 24 hours, without taking fever reducing medicine
○ AND, other symptoms have improved

● COVID-19 positive persons who did not develop symptoms should be allowed to return to regular activities 10 days after they were tested

● A negative test result should not be required for an employee to return to work in most instances Stanly County Health Department reports 723 total positive cases of COVID-19 and 8 deaths.

There have been 586 individuals that have recovered and the health department is actively monitoring 129 positive individuals.
