Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The following is by East Albemarle Principal Dr. Erik Johnson and Assistant Principal Judith Wherritt. Classes begin Aug. 17.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new and returning Bullpups back to East for the 2020-2021 school year!

Dr. Erik Johnson

We hope you have had a wonderful summer filled with fun memories, a relaxing schedule and good health. As a school community, we are gearing up for the new year and are eager to see your smiling faces again.

Due to COVID-19 it has been quite a while since we were all together as a school family and we understand that many of you may have reservations concerning the reopening of school.

In staying true to our vision — Inspire imagination. Empower individuals. Cultivate growth. — we have put numerous precautionary measures in place to ensure the safety and well being of students and staff while preserving the creativity of the learning environment.

Our staff has been working diligently since March on professional growth opportunities focused on delivering instruction to meet the needs of both traditional and virtual learners. We have also been working closely with the local health department to implement state guidelines.

We feel confident that we will be able to provide as normal of a school environment as possible given the current circumstances. We are ready and excited to start a new school year!

We would like to take this opportunity to mention one major change for the upcoming school year. In response to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we have suspended our uniform policy. Student attire must still comply with the Stanly County Schools’ dress code policy (#4065) but the former East Albemarle uniform is no longer required. Please visit our school website, Facebook and/or Class Dojo pages for additional information about the dress code as well as many other important topics.

At any point, if we can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us!
