Green Peeler, the only child of Norwood and Mary Ann (Ridenhour) Peeler, was born Aug. 21, 1849.

His father died about this same time, so he and his mother lived with her parents on their farm near present-day Misenheimer.

Peeler married Martha Francis Moss on May 2, 1876, and they continued to live in the same area. Together they had nine children.

He was a farmer in addition to managing a general store. According to family tradition, he would also transport passengers from the railroad to the nearby Misenheimer Springs Resort.

Today’s photo is of the Green Peeler family home that was on Wesley Chapel Road in Misenheimer for many years.

Even though the house is now gone, some of Peeler’s descendants still live nearby.
