Each year, Stanly County 4-H’ers participate in a statewide presentation competition. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year competitors participated virtually by submitting pre-recorded videos of their presentations.

Stanly County had 13 participants at the county-level competition. Five competitors advanced to district and three to state. State-level competition, usually on the N.C. State University campus, was also held virtually.

Evan Didio, 16, won gold in the Arts & Communication category. Sarah VanHorn, 14, won silver in the Foods & Nutrition category. Kyle VanHorn, 17, was a participant in the Citizenship & Community Service category.
