The following is by Kristen Sides, principal of South Stanly Middle School:

We have been eagerly awaiting the return of our students, teachers and staff. As we look ahead to the 2020-2021 school year, we will be faced with the challenge of creating a new way to view, approach and address education.

Teachers are in the process of preparing digital learning platforms for remote learning, preparing classrooms and creating lesson plans that address the various learning needs of our students.

Custodial staff and maintenance are creating plans and processes for ensuring the health and safety of our students while ensuring that classrooms are prepared for student learning. Administration and County Office personnel are diligently working to create schedules, plans and procedures for students, staff and teachers, that allow for a conducive learning environment that is safe.

Our goal is to provide educational opportunities and instructional practices that foster the growth and development of our students academically, socially and emotionally.

We look forward to partnering with families and the community to ensure student success during the upcoming school year.

We appreciate your continued support and eagerly await the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
