Valerian Growcock of Locust was named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2020, the college announced this week. This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.8 or higher.

Growcock, the child of Roger A. Growcock and Wendy D. Growcock of Locust, is a 2016 graduate of Piedmont High School. Growcock is majoring in European studies and minoring in Russian at Bates.
